The Fresno Nightcrawler

Do you know what cryptids are and that Fresno County has one of its very own?

According to Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints, cryptids are "creatures, such as the Loch Ness monster and the abominable snowman, whose existence is in dispute."

The Fresno Nightcrawler, our local cryptid, is considered to be the Central Valley’s version of Bigfoot. It was first reported in Fresno in 2007; however, there is footage of these fascinating creatures way back in the 1990s – the Fresno witness claimed that it looked like a walking pair of pants. It has also been reported in Yosemite and Poland (of all places). Our Nightcrawler buddy was also featured on Syfy’s Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files – and that team deemed the Nightcrawler as “unexplainable.” It is also now considered a “fun urban legend” and an “endearing addition to pop culture.”
